For our rocket design we decided on just a basic model for our rocket for this rocket we just wanted to see how our motor would preform and to make a rocket that just goes straight up and wouldn't blow up or go out of control. We drew a basic design of our rocket and made sure that the fins were proportional. Ashleigh drew the picture below of what our rocket would look like.
With our rocket we started building right away on the first day. Ashleigh made our motor tube while Andrew and I started cutting out the fins and the nose cone. After all of that was done and attached together we wanted to paint our rocket so we went with Andrew to Ace and to get paint so we could turn our tube into an American flag. We also decided to put stars on our rocket so we bought some stars to glue on as well. When we finished painting we put 50 stars on the four fins, 25 for each fin so it would be symmetrical.
Above you can see the video of our launch. I was very pleased with the results of our rocket launch as it went higher than I thought it would. Unfortunately our rip cord burned up from the ejection charge so our parachute deployed but wasn't attached to our rocket so it hit the ground pretty hard but didn't break.
